Animal Exchange at Arignar Anna Zoo

  • Received: One female Asiatic wild donkey.
  • Sent: One male and two female white peafowl, two male and two female mouse deer, and two unsexed yellow anacondas.

• Purpose: The exchange was aimed at improving animal pairing and welfare, enhancing genetic diversity and compatibility among species.

• Conservation Impact: The introduction of the female Asiatic wild donkey provides a compatible mate for the existing male at the Vandalur zoo, supporting breeding efforts for this vulnerable species.
